Property Profile
Three bedroom stone house located in Bolognese Apennines in Saint Lucia , the municipality of Castel d' Aiano . It is about 40 km from Bologna , in a small village of Romanesque origins. The house was part of the Abbey of Saint Lucia mentioned in documents of the year 1,000.
The house is not independent nor isolated but is constructed so as to offer complete privacy with the advantage of having a typical trattoria close by and a fantastic cheese diary that produces Parmigiano Re Nero and that has a retail outlet attached, the only one of its kind.
The church that borders the house has a fine Romanesque crypt. Excellent orientation with the sun all day and the garden of 1,300 m2 completely independent with fruit trees such as cherry, apple , pear, quince, grapes and kiwi, flat land for vegetable garden with irrigation system fed by cisterns (filled by gutter and rain water ) .
The house has two rooms on the ground floor, one completely frescoed has a fireplace, the other room with two fireplaces, one with hot air tubes to heat the upper floors . This room has many windows and a patio door that leads via stone staircase, directly into the garden . There is also a laundry room and utility room with boiler and a large bathroom before the stairs that take you to the first floor with bathroom, three bedrooms and two terraces.
The garden has a large wooden porch, covered with old tiles and with a building currently used as a tool shed . The outdoor covered terrace is ideal for al fresco dining.
A very comfortable home to live in with friendly people in the neighborhood has always given the current owner peace of mind during my absences .
