Built on the remains of a medieval 12th Century fortified castle, Castello di Palaia is composed of two main buildings; the oldest building was once a Carthusian monastery used by pilgrims on their journey to Rome whilst the 16th century Villa was used as a manor house and contains some beautiful 18th century frescos.



Castello di Palaia is situated in a small hamlet nestled in the hills of the Val d'Era valley. The hill top location boasts fabulous views over the Tuscan countryside, and is private yet very accessible. The closest village is within walking distance, and Pisa airport is only half an hour's drive away. The beautiful medieval towns of Palaia and Peccioli are also within close proximity.



The buildings have recently been converted into luxury apartments, fitted with all modern conveniences and meticulously refurbished using traditional methods and period materials including sandstone, exposed wooden beams and terracotta tile floors.
